The Barbasol Foundation

In line with the mission of Perio - the parent company of Barbasol and Pure Silk brands - the Barbasol Foundation was established in order to share the resources of the company with charitable causes. The main objective of the Barbasol Foundation is to support those charitable organizations focused on children.

Our Giving Priorities

The Barbasol Foundation considers funding requests from 501(c)(3) nonprofit organizations. The majority of our contributions go towards those causes that benefit children in the greater Columbus, Ohio area. We also fund organizations operating within the county of Ashland, Ohio, the home of our manufacturing facility. The Barbasol Foundation considers requests to support medical research, community food banks, homeless shelters, and other nonprofit social services as resources are available.

Current Organizations

The Barbasol Foundation is proud of our charitable work. We have several ongoing relationships with nonprofits in Ohio and beyond – we consider these to be our partner organizations.

Foundation Partners

Another part of our charitable giving is the annual Barbasol Foundation greater Columbus, Ohio grant program. These grants provide funds to
501(c)(3) nonprofit organizations for a specific program, project, or purchase.

Funding Opportunities

Grant Program Eligibility

Before taking the time to apply, please read our giving priorities to determine whether your organization aligns with the Barbasol Foundation’s objectives. Programs that provide food, shelter, clothing, health care, education and counseling to disadvantaged children and teens are given priority consideration.

The greater-Columbus grant program is only open to those organizations located within Franklin County or primarily serve within this area.

We do not fund the following: individuals; organizations that discriminate on the basis of age, sex, race, religion, national origin or disability with respect to employment, volunteer participation or the provision of services; churches and religious or sectarian organizations; sports teams; or political candidates or campaigns.

Funding Guidelines

The Foundation will generally not fund capital improvements, indirect costs, fringe benefits, overhead, travel expenses, endowment campaigns, facility fees, storage units, incentives, curriculum writing, staff development, or awards. Since the Foundation supports projects, any staff compensation should be clearly related to the services provided through the project work as opposed to salaries and general operating costs.

By primarily giving back to the counties closest to our manufacturing facility, the Barbasol Foundation advances its commitment to supporting the communities that sustain our company.
