The Barbasol Foundation

In line with the mission of Perio - the parent company of Barbasol and Pure Silk brands - the Barbasol Foundation was established in 2001 to share the resources of the company with charitable causes primarily focused on children.

We are proud to support these organizations to build stronger communities.

Giving Priorities

The Barbasol Foundation provides grants to other 501(c)(3) nonprofit organizations. The majority of our grants are awarded to organizations furthering children’s access to quality education, healthcare, and nutrition in the greater Columbus, Ohio area.

We also fund organizations operating within the county of Ashland, Ohio, the home of our manufacturing facility. These grants focus of in the areas of social services, education, health, and community and civic activities.

We do not fund the following: individuals; organizations that discriminate on the basis of age, sex, race, religion, national origin or disability with respect to employment, volunteer participation or the provision of services; sports teams; political candidates; or political campaigns.

Funding Opportunities

Grant Program Eligibility

Before taking the time to apply, please read our giving priorities to determine whether your organization aligns with the Barbasol Foundation’s grant objectives. Programs that provide food, shelter, clothing, health care, education, and mental health support to disadvantaged children and teens are given priority consideration.

The greater-Columbus grant program is only open to those organizations located within Franklin County or primarily serve within this area.

Funding Guidelines

The Foundation will generally not fund capital improvements, indirect costs, fringe benefits, overhead, travel expenses, endowment campaigns, facility fees, storage units, incentives, curriculum writing, staff development, or awards.

Any grant request that includes staff compensation should be clearly related to the services provided through the project work as opposed to salaries and general operating costs.

2026/2027 Grant Program

Information about the 2026/2027 Columbus grant cycle will be posted in early summer 2026.

We take grant requests from Ashland organizations on a rolling basis throughout the year as funding is available. To request an application for our Ashland grant program, please email foundation@barbasol.com.

The Barbasol Foundation works with the Greater Cleveland Foodbank to donate product to more than 650 programs in Northeast Ohio. This partnership enables the Barbasol Foundation to streamline and maximize our giving potential by eliminating freight costs and by targeting local communities. By primarily giving back to the counties closest to our manufacturing facility, the Barbasol Foundation advances its commitment to supporting the communities that sustain our company. We do not make product donations outside of our partnership with the Greater Cleveland Food Band.
